Huffy Recalls 12,000 Cruisers

JUNE 21, 2004 -- SPRINGBORO, OH (BRAIN)--Huffy is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 12,000 of its single-speed Cranbrook cruisers.

The handlebar on the bikes can unexpectedly loosen and cause the rider to lose control. Huffy has not received any reports of injuries.

The bicycles were sold at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from April through May. They came in men's and women's versions.

Consumers should contact Huffy at (888) 366-3828 for more information. Cranbrook owners will receive a free replacement handlebar and stem.
